Daniel Nitu Universitatea Babes-Bolyai
Daniel Nitu is senior lecturer in criminal Law at the of the Faculty of Law, within Babeş-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s biggest university. His area of interest covers both the domestic application of Criminal Law and the European and International facets.
Regarding the domestic level, beside the teaching and research activities, Mr. Nitu is a member of the Romanian Bar. In 2010, he was involved in the drafting of the Law for the application of the new Romanian Criminal Code, within a special commission established by the Ministry of Justice. As well, from 2013 – present time, he is a constant member of the examination commission within the Romanian Superior Council of Magistrates for the promotion as a judge at the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court. Since 2015, Daniel is a trainer for both judges and public prosecutors (within the National Institute of Magistracy), as well lawyers (within the National Institute for the Training of Lawyer)
At the European and International level, Mr. Nitu participated at numerous conferences on the topic organized by the International Institute for Criminal Sciences in Siracuse, Italy. As well, he constantly benefits from research stages offered by the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, in Freiburg, Germany. Starting 2016, Daniel is the Contact Point for Romania, within ECLAN.
